Where to celebrate Christmas in Barcelona
As the winter nights get colder, this can only mean that Christmas is fast approaching! This is always a lively time of year in Barcelona and certainly one to be enjoyed if you are staying in the city.

Christmas in Catalonia brings its own wealth of local traditions for you to explore and enjoy around town. However, if you are docked either in
Marina Port Vell
or in
MB92, you’ll find the Christmas celebrations of
Moll de la Fusta literally at your doorstep, from the 9th December – 6th January. A brightly lit Ferris wheel stands tall at the centre, offering rides with a view across the port and the city. The fairground atmosphere is enlivened by market stalls and a gastronomic area offering seasonal treats and festive drinks from hot chocolate to fine wines. Live music and performace will be taking place, ensuring a fun and festive ambience throughout the festive season. There will also be a food bank collection, where you can leave donations for people who will appreciate your generosity.
Another market not to miss is the
Santa Llúcia Christmas market, in front of the Cathedral. You’ll find stalls selling trees, mistletoe and traditional nativity scenes. There is always a festive ambience, with Christmas music and events for children. Stalls sell hot mulled wine and sweet treats to get you in the festive mood.
If you’re looking to do some more luxurious Christmas
shopping, a good place to start is at the top of Las Ramblas in Plaça Catalunya. From here, you can wander up Passeig de Gràcia, with its designer boutiques and top brand flagship stores such as Burberry, Prada, Dior and Gucci.
