Aug 18, 2022

Even if a small island, Formentera’s natural charm, unforgettable sunsets, and gastronomic offer, make it a yachting dream destination.

The island is conserved in a very good state because of the strict normative of environmental conservation and the awareness of the visitors. Its very important to know that the anchorage is regulated with the aim of protecting Posidonia meadows.

Are you ready to cruise the crystal-clear waters of this Mediterranean paradise? Let us share with you the top 5 spots that you can’t miss.

S'Espalmador islet

Cruising from Ses Salines beach, you can arrive to this lovely Natural Reserve where just yachts or small vessels can enter. In the south you can find the most famous beach: Playa de S’Alga. With its turquoise waters, is one of the favourites of the yachting enthusiasts.

To anchor in this islet, you need to reserve a buoy. Contact the team of Evolution Yacht Agents in ibiza@evolutionagents.com so we make the reservation on your behalf.

Beaches of Illetes and Llevant

After a first stop in Espalmador islet, we recommend you keep cruising to other points of the island that result in a great experience. Get close to the Es Trucadors peninsula where you can find a long sandbank: the Illetes Beach. Just a few metres behind, you will find the Llevant beach.

Separated just by a couple of dunes these beaches are an amazing gift for the eyes. This is the ideal point to disembark and enjoy the local gastronomy, with fresh fish, seafood, and the most delicious dishes.

Cala Saona

Following your itinerary to the south of the island, you will find a bigger cala, which is also one of the most famous ones. It’s called Cala Saona, and it’s a savage paradise that appears between two cliffs full of pine trees. It’s one of the best places in Formentera to enjoy the sunset.

Cap de Barbaria and Migjorn Beach

If you keep cruising south, you will finally meet the most southern point of the island: the Cap de Barbaria, which is also a lighthouse. If you are a traveller who loves history, it might be interesting for you to disembark and check the monolithic settlement that you can find next to the lighthouse.

On the same route, you can find the Migjorn beach, full of white fine sand dunes, one of the biggest beaches of Formentera. This sandbank extends until the cliffs of La Mola, here you can admire heart-warming landscapes.

Es Caló village

The last spot that you need to watch in Formentera would be the scenic small town of Es Caló. It’s a small fishermen town full of small calas, traditional typical houses and a cute wood way to walk by the sunset.

The smallest island of the Balearics it’s a destination that offers incredible landscapes, ideal beaches, crystal-clear waters, and really good gastronomic offers. Formentera is awaiting you.
